Vegan Products at Apolónia in Portugal

Vegan Products at Apolónia in Portugal

The Portuguese supermarket chain Apolónia has only 3 stores, all of which are located in the Algarve: in Almancil, Galé (Albufeira) and Lagoa (Carvoeiro). The modern, almost noble-looking supermarkets stock primarily international and generally more expensive products. No wonder that brands such as The Vegetarian Butcher, Amy’s, Fry’s, Quorn and The Coconut Collaborative can be found here. For a vegan basic equipment, we’d shop elsewhere. But if you want to try new products, which aren’t available everywhere, this is the place for you!

Vegan in Egypt

Vegan in Egypt

When asked for the most vegan-friendly places in our travel community on Facebook, one country rarely appears in the comments: Egypt. Completely unjustified – in our opinion. Because in the two months we have traveled criss-cross through the land of the Pharaohs, we feasted absolutely deliciously on falafel, foul, date cookies, fresh fruit, koshary, cashew ice cream, caramel latte with cashew and almond milk, tahina, baba ganoush and hummus and did not have to go hungry at all! What is also special here is that you get almost all of these goodies for just a few pennies. How and where exactly, you will get to know here. Continue reading “Vegan in Egypt”

Fuerteventura: Endless Sand Dunes

Fuerteventura: Endless Sand Dunes

After Tenerife, with almost 1,700 square kilometers of island area, Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands. With about 66 inhabitants per square kilometer, it is sparsely populated. In return, the oldest canary island (about 20.6 million years) offers wide sandy beaches and the protected Parque Natural de Corralejo with large shifting dunes. The almost one hundred kilometer long island is also particularly popular with water sports enthusiasts, such as surfers on the west coast, windsurfers in the north and kitesurfers on the east coast. Tenerife: The Ultimate Road Trip

Tenerife: The Ultimate Road Trip

The things we had previously heard about Tenerife were not very positive: mass tourism, crowded, little culture. However, what we found on the largest Canary Island were breathtakingly beautiful landscapes, crystal-clear sea pools, cute villages and just the right mix of city and nature, topped by the volcano Teide, the highest peak in Spain – in short: an island to fall in love with. All the highlights of Tenerife can be perfectly combined on a round trip, which is why we would like to introduce you to the perfect route for a Tenerife road trip. Porto.

Porto

In order to do justice to this city, we would probably have to write a whole book. Having been in the shadow of its “big sister” Lisbon for a long time, it is no longer unknown now, but one of the most popular tourist destinations in Western Europe. And deservedly so: UNESCO Old Town, double-deck bridge Ponte Luís I, river Douro and delicious vegan food make hearts beat faster. Whether as a city trip or a starting point to travel the north of Portugal – Porto is always worth it. Continue reading “Porto.”
